For the first time EVER, the “I” in LGBTQIA+ will proudly sail through the heart of Amsterdam during the iconic Canal Pride Parade — and you can help make this happen.

We are Spread the Word, a new intersex community association focused on intersex visibility and intersex JOY, and we’re organizing the very first Intersex Pride Boat in Amsterdam.

This isn’t just a boat — it’s a bold, beautiful, and long-overdue statement of visibility, celebration, and resistance for the intersex community.
This is a protest.

You might wonder: why hasn’t the “I” been represented before?
Because even in 2025, fear, stigma, and taboo still silence intersex voices. In the Netherlands alone, there are over 190,000 intersex people, yet only around 40 have publicly shared their experiences.
That silence ends now.

Our mission is to create a world where sex diversity is seen, accepted, and celebrated.
Taking part in the Canal Parade means huge visibility: over one million people will see and hear our message — from the shore and on national TV.

But we need your support to make this happen.

We’re raising €7,000 through crowdfunding to help bring this dream to life — covering the boat, decorations, music, and all we need to shout our truth loud and proud.

🔸 Our total budget is €15,000
🔸 We’ve already been granted €5,000 from the Pride Amsterdam Visibility Fund
🔸 We're raising another €5,000 through ticket sales
🔸 The final €5,000 from this fundraiser will go toward the core production costs
🔸 And an extra €2,000 will help cover unforeseen costs, because... well, organizing history isn’t always predictable.
